ROTACON WHEEL TRACK SOLUTION
Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I fit the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution to any brand of centre pivot irrigator?
A. Yes, the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution can be fitted to all major brands of centre pivot known to us. The variations in the designs of centre pivots can be coped with in the RWTS system.

Q. Can I fit the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution to my existing centre pivot?
A. Yes. The Rotacon Wheel Track Solution can be retrofitted to existing pivot irrigators. The benefits of reduced strain on the superstructure and the drive systems achieved by eliminating wheel ruts can substantially extend the life of your irrigator.

Q. Can I "switch-off' the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution so that wheels stay in the same track?
A. Yes. The operator/farmer is in complete control. The RTWS allows the operator to run the irrigator in its original format i.e. wheels stay in the same track every revolution. The RWTS can also be run in a much narrower band than the standard 1.8 metres, reducing the amount of crop lost to the wheels flattening it. If the crop is a wheel track sensitive one such as cotton, the RWTS can be set at one radius for one season's crop and then set at a new radius for the next season's crop so that the wheel tracks do not get worse season after season.

Q. What happens when the chain becomes fully rewound on the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution?
A. When the RWTS has completed its full cycle, from fully wound in, to fully wound out and back in again, a switch is activated which switches off the irrigator. An option is offered with the RWTS that activates a flashing light before the machine is stopped to remind the operator to rewind the chain. If required, text messaging to your mobile phone can also be provided.

Q. How is the machine reconnected after retrofitting the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution, I can't shift the tower or the irrigator.
A. The RWTS is fitted without moving either. The chain is installed at the correct length to commence operation at the original position. Either to come in approx 300 mm or to go out up to 1500mm and then come back in.

Q. What do I do when I already have the mother of all wheel ruts, and I can't fix them straight away?
A. You fill in a short section of the ruts and allow the machine to walk out there (away from the centre) you can then use about two thirds of the travel of the RWTS, outside of the ruts until such time that they can be fixed.

Q. What will happen if the chain breaks?
A. The machine will walk to its outer reach, and will continue to run there until the chain is attached again to wind the machine back in.

Q. Will fitting the Rotacon Wheel Track Solution to my machine affect its life span?
A. The corrosion life span will obviously not be affected, drive lines, motors and gearboxes will last considerably longer.
